MISSION:
The Brooklyn Law and Political Economy Collective is a new student group on campus. Our Collective has grown substantially over our first year and has taken on a range of projects, workshops, and events. We are a chapter of the LPE Project and we are thrilled to have co-organized events with other student groups, as well as a monthly coffee chat where students and faculty come together to talk about ideas in legal pedagogy, movement lawyering, academic freedom, and more. If you'd like to see our past events, they are archived here.
PLEASE SUPPORT BLPEC:
This spring, we are hosting our FIRST EVER Student Symposium on April 19th. The symposium will provide a novel forum to build academic discourse, collaboration, and community among students and faculty and to provide opportunities for growth in legal scholarship for students. Our keynote will be delivered by abolitionist and movement lawyer Marbré Stahly Butts, the co-founder and former Executive Director of Law for Black Lives.
Your donation will go directly to making the Student Symposium a success! The day-long event will feature several panels with over a dozen Brooklyn Law students presenting their academic work. We will provide lunch and refreshments to attendees throughout the day, as well as a printed compendium of all the featured abstracts. The symposium will be held on Friday, April 19th, 2024 in the Moot Court Room at Brooklyn Law School. Register here to attend! Thank you for supporting student scholarship and critical academic discourse at Brooklyn Law School!
